Our trip to Bayeux and Falaise !

After lunch, we went to Falaise and visited the castle because William the Conqueror lived in the castle. The guide showed us the rooms where people ate and invited people. The second room was where they slept. We liked going to the top of the keep because it was high. It was worth seeing the Duke’s bedroom because it was colourful.

The Bayeux tapestry is an embroidery. It is 50 cm wide and 68,3 m long. It is composed of 9 panels of linen canvas. There are ten colours and it is written in Latin. The borders represent legendary monsters, animals, dead people, farmers and carpenters. It looks like a comic strip or a film. It tells the story of the conquest of England by the Normans and it gives details of aspects of everyday life in the 11th century. William decided to invade England because he wanted the throne back after Edward the confessor died. We recommend it to everybody because it is very interesting. We think everybody should see it.
